According to clients we’ve interviewed, the staff took care of them every step of the way, making them feel comfortable and reassured. This increases our appreciation for their professionalism.

Apparently, the quality of the cars is also top-notch. The cars these clients bought had immaculate bodywork and interior wheels, which they loved.

Still, if you are looking for a dealer that sells high quality used cars, then K-Cars might be worth a shot.

Cowgate Motor Company is a household name in Dundee since it has been established since 1990.

This car dealer offers a standard warranty, which we think customers would appreciate. However, what’s unique is that it’s specifically designed to cover the cost of repairing or replacing mechanical or electrical components for the first three months or 3,000 miles.

Unlike K-Cars, Cowgate Motor Company has a very wide selection of brands to choose from. They seem to have everything – from cool Audis, snazzy BMWs, Fiats to Minis, Peugeots, Renault, and adorable VWs!

Do note that they are closed on Sundays. If you can only walk-in during weekends, then Saturday would be your only option.

Sadly, we’ve heard reports of some sales staff members who were not accommodating. Some did not allow customers to test drive the cars, while others provided plastic keys and not the central locking fob keys that they promised to provide.

Some customers apparently also received faulty cars. In fact, some of these used cars were returned multiple times due to functionality issues, which is a bit troubling.

As a whole, we still think this car dealer is one of the best in Dundee due to their very wide range of brands and their unique warranty.

We like that this car dealer offers affordable finance options which is great for those on a budget. For instance, you can purchase a Fiat 500 POP which has a sales price of £3,595 for only £70.83 per month.

What’s cool about this shop is that all of their used cars come with a mechanical warranty. This warranty comes with a minimum 6 month MOT, an oil and filter change, plus a 3-month or 3000-mile in-house mechanical warranty for your peace of mind.

Unfortunately, some customers have reported that some of the cars they bought had issues. And when they took them back to have them fixed, they had to return multiple times to re-do the repairs.

It seems that some customers also noticed that the staff stopped caring about them after paying for their cars. Apparently, they were not given enough information about their used cars, and they were not given V5Cs or even maintenance advice.

Hopefully, this car dealer can fix these issues so that they wouldn’t overshadow their great finance options and mechanical warranty.

Established in 1954, Arnold Clark is Europe’s largest independent car retailer, so it’s no wonder that they are on top of the list of used car dealers in Dundee. 

They even won the Dealer Group of the Year award in 2022, which builds our confidence in their credibility.

Like Motormile Motors, this car dealer can accommodate you all week. This is such a great help for those who are only available during the weekends.

Their staff members are known for their excellence and extremely professional demeanour. Clients we’ve spoken with appreciated taht they thoroughly explained everything they needed to know, and were straightforward and friendly to boot.

However, Arnold Clark’s car stock is a bit pricier than the stock of other car dealers. For instance, their lowest priced used car is a 2018 (18) SEAT Mii which costs £7,498.

Also, their lower-priced cars typically sell quite quickly, so you would need to choose fast. Otherwise, other customers might beat you to the punch, and you might lose out on your dream car.

One value-added service we really like is their part exchange service. Customers can use parts of their old cars as a partial payment to lower the cost of their purchase, which is both convenient and economical.

Customers also appreciate that their sales people are not pushy at all. This is a big deal in this industry, where hard-selling is practically the norm.

Unfortunately, they only see customers by appointment. So, if you are looking to simply walk-in, then you are out of luck.

Like Arnold Clark, their used cars are said to be a bit pricey. But since they are known for the quality of their selection, we think it’s a worthy investment.
